About

I’m Sarah Lewis, an entrepreneur and web fanatic, and also the owner of this blog and producer of the oDesk Insider book (coming April 2008).

In my web wanderings, I came across oDesk and immediately recognized the benefits it could hold for my businesses. If you don’t know about oDesk, it’s a marketplace where freelancers can find buyers looking to outsource, and vice versa. Since I discovered it, I’ve hired oDesk providers to do design, code, writing, and promotion.

In the process, I’ve been experienced a broad spectrum of provider quality. Some folks are great, some not-so-great, and an overwhelming number are good at what they actually do (the skill they’re selling) but really need some help marketing themselves. That’s why I started this blog.

The goal of oDesk Insider (both the blog and the book) is to help freelancers and sub-contractors succeed on oDesk. Your definition of success may be a little different than mine, but what I mean when I say succeed on oDesk is “improve skills, fill openings, clearly communicate, and make a good living.” I think most providers would be happy with those results.

The blog is written by several different oDesk providers and myself, to give you a balanced perspective. You can find out more about each of us by clicking the author name while reading our posts.

Expect to find tips, tricks, hints, instruction, and general concepts that will serve you well as an oDesk provider or a general freelancer. Have ideas for the book or the blog? Please share them!
